Wide-angle Wednesday

What an unexpected whirlwind day yesterday!

It's wide-angle Wednesday, and you are going to get your fill because I happen to have a ton of photos to share!  Let's start at the beginning, shall we?

Yesterday morning as it got lighter, I watched the clouds roll in and checking the radar, saw a storm headed our way.  I threw on my shorts and old shoes and headed out the door with no Garmin and no music.  I was so excited for a #runfree4me run in the rain and it did not disappoint!  It was glorious out, I loved running in the rain and having no music made it even better.  I could hear the rain on the trees,  the wind, and other than nature it was so quiet because I was the only one around.  Who else goes to the park in the rain?

When I got home I had to get Savannah up, she was going to the mall for the day to celebrate her friend L's bday.  The mall may not sound like a big deal to most, but for these girls it's a real treat.  We live 100 miles from the closest mall, so they don't get to go often.  The plan was for my friend Summer (L's mom) to take them, but last minute I decided to hitchhike along!

Crazy girls during the long drive

We went to Target (Tar-J) first and I have never seen girls so excited for Target!  It was pretty cute.  I got pretty excited too when I came upon this beautiful sight...
I think I may have been more excited than them when I realized what this shopping excursion might include for ME! I don't know how much I tried on, but I walked out with a couple shirts and a running hat, which I've never tried before, so why not?  The back of the shirt is the most important, naturally.  LOL

After Target we headed to lunch

Birthday girl is in the middle
then to the mall!  They really were SKIPPING into the mall.

yep, it's the same shot as above, but I really love it.  So you get to see it in B&W too.

I had yummy food (falafel sandwich and tabouli salad) and Starbucks TWICE.  (I didn't eat at the restaurant, they were cooking meat on the same grill with veggies and I decided to wait for mall foodles)

I realized that running has changed my shopping habits.  I was not interested in anything that wasn't running related!  And guess what I found first?  TUTUS!!! LOL! I found a few other things and the girls basically shopped until they dropped.  We didn't leave until after dinner for the long drive home.

My girl and her friend E with their matching kitty ears.  (Savannah is the one with the dark hair)

It was a long day fun day of shopping!  Exhausted girlies.

I made out like a bandit, btw.   Three tanks (1.99 each!) that are spandex/rayon, so I think I can run in them.  Two tutus for 9$ total, two really nice running tanks from Target (one I wore this morning so it's not in the pic) and my new running hat!  WOOT!

So how's THAT for Wide-angle Wednesday?!!  ;)

Question:  Do you find yourself steering towards running gear more than "regular" clothing now?  What's your favorite clothing to shop for?

  1. Actually yes, I care more about running clothes than regular clothes lol! I love the tutus you found they are so cute! Have you started putting together your Cinderella costume yet?

Also, that is awesome you were able to run in the rain; I love to do that too when I get the chance :)

    1. I have started to put together my Cinderella inspired outfit for the race, but I'm at a standstill now because I'm still losing some weight and don't want to get anything more until I'm sure what size I should get things in! LOL! I figured the tutus were so cheap, cheaper than I have found online, so I bought them for some future unnamed race! ;)

    1. Thanks Amy! I was on the phone yesterday with Rey when I was getting ready to go and I said that I had nothing to wear to the mall and he responded "that's because all you have is sports stuff now" LOL...so I bought more. ;)

  4. I always check out running clothes before regular clothes!! I have a ton of "normal" clothes, but I haven't found anything really special recently so I haven't bought much in that department. However, I'm ALWAYS looking at running clothes!!

    1. It was HOT TOPIC, of all places! They had others that were $20 each, but in the back they had a clearance rack with tutus for 8$ and the 2nd was only 1$ more.

  6. Great pictures, so fun!! Also great prices on the clothes, very cute tutus:) I used to be like you, and buy so much running stuff. I still have a hard time not buying cute stuff when I see it. I just have so much now, I could literally have a running only closet at this point, but then I kinda like that too:)

  7. Great pictures! Looks like the girls had a blast. How's the target tank? Their active section is always the first place I go. :)

    1. I got two tanks at Target and I love them both! AND, they were CHEAP compared to all the gear I have found online, so Target may be my new go-to for running gear!
