WAW!

There are only two Wide-angle Wednesday left before the race!! Continuing on with my Disney-theme, today's WAW is all about the resort. I should probably start calling this Wide-ALBUM Wednesday.  I'm just so psyched for this trip, I cannot share just one or two shots!

Savannah & I stayed at Pop on our first trip ever to Disney World, in 2008.  It was a magical trip with friends and ever since, she has insisted that we stay at our "home" each time.
We love the in-your-face Disney theming..all Disney, all the time...

Now I have to share a little secret with you...

I love Pop and seeing my daughter light up when we arrive, full of magic and memories of this place she loves, is  fantastic...but Pop is not actually my favorite resort.  *gasp*

Rey and I took an Anniversary trip for 3 amazing nights in November 2012 and rented points at Animal Kingdom Lodge.  I fell so deeply in love with this resort, I honestly could just go stay there and never step foot in the parks (and you KNOW I love the parks!)  It pays to have insomnia as well folks because I laid on the lobby floor at 3am and took some of these shots.  It's just stunning, I love everything about it and wanted to share a few of those photos as well.

As if the beauty of the resort wasn't enough, our balcony view put me over the top. I spent quite a few hours of our three day trip on that balcony in bliss!

I will admit that these are the only two resorts I have stayed at, but I have visited others and I don't think my opinion on my favorite will change even if I stay at them all.  We'll see!  Thanks to the generosity of my amazing friend Lisa, we are staying two nights at Beach Club Villas on this trip and I'm really looking forward to getting some photos there as well.

Shew!  Did you make it through all of those?  So, you know I'm going to ask...
What's your favorite resort at WDW?!?!

  1. I've only stayed at All Star Sports, and for PHM we're staying at Pop. I just want to say that you take the most gorgeous photos ever, and I'm super jealous!

    1. Thanks Amy! It's awesome, we're going to go eat at Boma this trip just so I can see it again. I probably didn't do myself a favor staying there b/c it's way out of my price range and I will want to stay there every time now! LOL

  3. We have stayed at POP before and enjoy it (love all the bright colors)! Never been to AK yet!
My favorite has got to be the Grand Floridian just because of special memories it holds and being able to see the wedding pavilion!

    1. I have never been to GF! I mean, I have been near the outside and from the monorail, but never inside. I can't wait to see it! We have a breakfast ADR at Park Fare on our last day, so I'm planning to get some shots of that lobby!

  4. So far, my favorite has been the Royal Rooms at Port Orleans - Riverside resort! It is a gorgeous resort, however I really really loved POP too (mostly because of its awesome food court lol)! Robert and I have a goal to try a new Disney resort each trip so that we can experience as many as possible - Animal Kindgom Lodge is 100% on our bucket list. It looks incredible!

    1. It's really amazing. Oh the Royal Rooms look really pretty, I have never seen them in person. I have been to POFQ and I really like the outside areas but not sure when I'll ever stay there, Rey says he doesn't like how it looks b/c it doesn't look like N.O.??? *shrug*

  5. We stayed at AKL Kidani Village during our last stay and it's my favorite too! I loved walking onto the balcony and seeing the animals (especially the giraffes!). The photos you took of the AKL lobby are beautiful - I wish we had explored that building more

  6. Wow, your AKL pics are incredible!!!! I'd really love to stay at every Disney resort at one point or another. I really liked POR Riverside the last time I was there... but staying at Coronado Springs this time to mix things up a bit.

    1. Thanks Alicia! I want to stay at them all too, I don't think my bank account can handle it! LOL. Coronado is so pretty, I almost booked there for this trip but needed to save money.

  7. I stayed at the Yatch Club for a work convention and I have to say I got spoiled. LOL Not only is the resort pretty awesome but Stormalong Bay is the best resort pool system on Disney property plus it has some great places to eat, including a character meal. Having said all that, when its my money, I love both Pop Century and All Star Sports. They might be value resorts but it sure is good enough for me.

  8. OH.MY.WORD... that Animal Kingdom resort looks amazing!!!!
We stayed at the New Orleans resort (I think the name has changed now) - it was beautiful & lovely. We did the bikes around the pond & thoroughly enjoyed being on site... just to have the packages delivered to your room from the park :)

  9. I cannot love your photos anymore than I already do. They are amazing! I can't wait to stay at POP this time and get to meet you! I love AKL too but the Boardwalk might be my favorite place ever. You can stumble to EPCOT and back without worrying about transportation :)

  10. That view from your balcony does not look like Florida... especially the Florida that surrounds Disney! Gorgeous :)

    1. haha, I know, I felt like I was in Africa or something! If you look REALLY close at the palm in the middle...right above it was Expedition Everest! You could see it much better from the balcony than the photo shows, it was pretty cool!

  11. Animal Kingdom Lodge is definitely on my wish list of places to stay. So far we've done All Star Sports, which was okay but nothing to write home about; Port Orleans Riverside - loved! Gorgeous grounds!; and the Polynesian, where we're staying again this time - also gorgeous grounds and the convenience of being close to MK when you have a two year old is very nice. :) I have actually never seen the Pop Century resort but your pics make it look fantastic! I can't believe we only have two weeks to go!

    1. AKL is just beautiful. The grounds of POR look fantastic, some trip I will find the time to go over there and get some shots! I love the outdoor areas of Poly, it will be interesting what their refurb looks like! I have never stayed on a monorail resort and it looks so convenient!

  12. Wow, I would love to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, stunning! Since I've only ever been there once, I stayed at the Coranado Springs Resort, it was nice. But nothing like the glam you just showed in your pictures:)

    1. Well, I tend to find a way to make everything glam in my shots, LOL. I have seen some pretty awesome shots of Coronado with the water at night! I need to visit there as well soon!

  13. Those are stunningly gorgeous photos! Seriously. Took. My. Breath. Away! I love AKL, we got to stay there once right after 9/11 when it was new and tourism was down for a disgustingly cheap price. I've been a few times since and loved every visit! I also love Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness and Coronado Springs. I'm looking forward to exploring POP, you can show me all the cool spots!!

    1. Absolutely! I can tell you the coolest place ever is Pedals Bar on a sunny afternoon! LOL. I'm such a lush. Actually, I'm not a lush at all, I'm a wanna-be-lush but I talk about drinking far more than I actually drink b/c it makes me feel like crap most of the time! ;) TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!! LOL...I just keep saying it over and over again, thinking I might believe it if I keep saying it.

  14. I've never been to AK Lodge, but your pictures are gorgeous! When I was a teenager, my family stayed at the Beach Club and it was absolutely amazing. Much different than staying at an economy hotel. I would like to stay at the Contemporary one day, but right now, that type of resort is not in the budget, lol!

    1. I'm really excited to try Beach Club! Walking to Epcot & DHS sounds so nice! IKWYM about budget! Right now the Values are really the only thing in my budget after park tickets, airfare, and food.

  15. I've heard such great this about POP that I may stay there for a race weekend sometime. Though I have to say ever since the first time I'd gone to WDW, about 18 years ago (lord I'm old), I have wanted to stay at the Yacht Club. Dark stained wood, rich blue tones and shiny brass accents have captivated me since the first time I'd laid eyes on this property. That is my number one place to stay, a close number two is the Grand Floridian, who can say no to that place, it is quintessential Disney World!
