Wide-angle Wednesday & National Running Day!

Happy Running Day!!!  Normally I giggle at all the National Days we have now, like National PB&J day or National cut your grass day (ok, I made those up) but today...well, today is surely a day to celebrate!

Dallas and I planned our week so our last run before the race would be today.  A GORGEOUS 4 mile run.  I have stopped trying to take photos while running, but this morning I made an exception when we rounded the path and this is what I saw.

Beauty.  I soaked it all up.  It was actually more lovely than this with the fog and the grass all sparkly, but it's a camera phone after all, I don't run with the dslr.  LOL.   I had another picture to share for wide-angle Wednesday, but this one captured one of the things I love about running even better...the beautiful parts of nature I experience! I feel a part of it all when I run.

Did you get out and run for National Running Day?  Do you feel connected with nature/the world when you are running...or am I weird? ;)

  1. I love that picture. It really captures the beauty a runner gets to experience :)

I also agree (from your comment on my blog) that it is hard to just come up with one reason! All of your reasons are great!

    1. Thanks Lauren! I have always loved being outside but running outside takes it to another level, I think!

  2. I think the early morning is the most beautiful time to run. Everything is quiet...even the animals are just waking up. I love love love when the sun just peaks over the horizon. It's my favorite part of the day. Seeing all the animals scurry around definitely makes me smile.

I haven't run today because I'm still battling this nasty chest infection and I ran Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday (all with the infection), but I'm planning on doing a 2-mile warm up before my weights class tonight.
