Good Monday morning to you! I hope everyone had a fabulous Father's Day weekend. I'm a bit scatter-brained this morning, it was a fun weekend and ahem...I had a bit of whipped cream vodka last night with friends, so it may take a bit for me to put my thoughts in coherent order here! ;)
If you are new to reading my blog, my husband Rey just recently went back on the road after being home recovering for eleven months with a rupturing a disc in his back. It was hard having him gone again, but he came home just in time for Father's Day weekend!
Savannah spent the night out for a birthday party, so it was just me and my guys yesterday morning. We decided to go for a walk and realized only when walking out the door that it was raining. Ah well, I love running in the rain, so walking in it works too! It was a blast and I'm glad we didn't change our minds. The dogs even enjoyed it. Dallas & I had fun racing/sprinting up a few hills (you KNOW I cannot go out for a walk and not run just a bit!)
We were soaked! I don't think you can see how wet we really were, but I eventually had to take my glasses off because I couldn't see through all the water on them.
The rest of the day we spent playing poker and then had our good friends over for drinks and games last night. It was a great day, although I'm not sure how my run will go this morning after having a few drinks last night! Oh, and I'm excited to try Energybits this morning, I have been
wanting to try them for a while, I'll do a review after I see how they make me feel.
I know, this was a pretty dull update, but they can't all be epic, right? I'm actually a little nervous blogging lately, I have more followers than I really ever anticipated! Thanks to all the new likes and followers. If you want to know a little bit more about me, there are a couple tabs at the top of the page with info on my running story and why I chose the Princess Half for my first Half Marathon.

What did you do for Father's Day? Do you like to get out in the rain for a run or walk?
Mmm whipped cream vodka?! Sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteSounds like y'all had a great father's day! We went over to Robert's parents' for brunch then took our puppy to the dog park to play :)
I've been seeing those energy bites all over the blog world lately lol I think I need to give them a try!
It was good enough to just do shots of (which I cannot normally do). Sounds like you had a nice day too with your furry kid! Well, the jury is out on the Energybits this run...apparently they can't fix hangover. LOL. I have enough to try them again though, which I intend to do.
DeleteI'm so glad Rey was able to make it home for Father's Day. :) My family went out for dinner and it was great to see my aunts/uncles and grandpa. :)
ReplyDeleteI love running in the rain! I ran one of my fastest 5ks in the rain. A little hard to see, but well worth the fun. :)
I never really thought I would love it, but every time I do it, I like it even more! AND...I stay cool!
DeleteSo happy that Rey made it home in time! That's great :D Looks like you guys had an amazing day! I think the best hangover cure is going for a run, but maybe that's just because I'm weird and love running and drinking. Sweating beer out is my favorite way to start my morning after I had a night out. Maybe i'm just a little obsessive ;)
ReplyDeleteOMG, it was a crazyhard run! I don't know how you do it. LOL. It was like running through molasses, my legs still felt like crap even at the end of 3.3 miles. I got it done though, so that felt good!
DeleteSorry it rained there for father's day but looks like you had a blast anyway. We put off our yard work yesterday because the news kept saying it was gonna rain here too, but we didn't see one drop! I did my first run in the rain two weeks ago and I can actually say I kind of enjoyed it ( weird I know)! ~M
ReplyDeleteI really think from now on when it rains I will make an effort to go out and rain. You would think it wouldn't be pleasant, but it really is awesome! I like it too! I thought the rain would mess up our day, but it ended up making it even more fun. We had a great day.
DeleteI love running in the rain! Glad you had a great Father's Day. I've got to try whipped cream vodka now that I know it exists.
ReplyDeleteThanks April! The vodka was fantastic, although I'm not sure it was worth the sluggish run yesterday and feeling tired all day! LOL
Delete1) pinnacle whipped vodka with orange juice tastes like creamsicles. pinnacle whipped vodka with frangelico and a little salt tastes just like a chocolate covered pretzel.
ReplyDelete2) happy your Rey made it home for a nice family weekend.
3) don't be nervous about the new followers, just do what you do. keep on keepin on and be yourself. I have to admit i am a little jealous though, all things considered.
Thanks Amy! I'm not one to care much about numbers, but I am a bit of an introvert at heart, so I just have to keep posting like I normally would and not worry about who is reading b/c it's a big overwhelming. I'm sure I'll lose people along the way, which is fine, I don't need a ton of followers, just people I can interact with and talk about running with! That would be YOU for sure! :)
Deleteawwww. p.s. I dont know if you got the last links i posted for you before i took my impromptu facebook hiatus. some of the etsy stuff for phm is really cute. i got a great idea for tiaras... lets chat about it when i come back to facebook.
